A - Aah! ... where do I start?
Well
firstly ... your riding a motorcycle ... it rains ... ewe expected something
else when ewe bought one?
Water WILL NOT
affect sheepskin or any other leather product - however drying it incorrectly
can
If ewe get caught in the rain then it won't matter as ewe will be wet too or
ewe will be wearing rain clothing anyway
... but if your cover gets wet while ewe are away from the bike
then ewe can take the cover off or in a lot of times all ewe have to do is wipe
it off a bit.
Most of the time your sheepskin Seat Cover will dry pretty quickly if ewe
park the bike under cover in an airy place for a few hours.
Consider
the following points :
We can't seem to find the appropriate material to make a
"waterproof" cover [I'm sure it's here somewhere but we
can't find it]
If we could find the right material it would still cost ewe about [I'm
guessing here] aud$35 - aud$45 ??? [we probably wouldn't
make anything on that either]
But even if we found the material and the retail price was better than I'm
thinking now, then ewe also have to carry it around with ewe otherwise it is a
bit useless [the best materials are a little bulky too]
And even if all of the above was OK then remember that, on a motorcycle, ewe
want things to be as small and multi-usable as possible - and what else can ewe
do with a dedicated rain cover that ewe may or may not have with ewe because it
was a little bulky to carry that day etc?
And ewe can't even sit on these to ride either [at least not
for long] as it is easy to rub a hole through them from wallets in
pockets and rivets in jeans etc and then what use is a rain cover with a hole in
it?
... and "waterproof" isn't altogether what your likely to get
either since all of the ones that I have seen have been sewn, not plastic
welded, and considering the price it is unlikely that the seams were sealed to
stop water leakage so ewe will probably always get a bit of water on the cover
It
ain't all bad news! here is what we recommend :
A garbage bag
That's it buddy! a garbage bag ...
...
why? well I'm glad ewe asked and here's why :
Alright, I'll be the first to tell ewe it isn't a great look BUT it very
very practical
They are cheap, available anywhere, ewe can carry one in your pocket all the
time and they are very useful for many other things that ewe just can't do with
a dedicated rain cover
If your Seat Cover is wet or in danger of getting wet then just slip a garbage
bag over your seat or if your seat is a bolt on type then drape a bag over the
seat and secure with okky straps - this isn't any different than
using a rain cover as ewe still have to remove the seat to fit a rain cover
